The next Destiny expansion pack, "Rise of Iron" was officially revealed Thursday afternoon in a livestream from Bungie. A trailer leaked early for the expansion pack, and kicked off the reveal.

"We thought we had sealed away the plague for eternity, but now it has returned, and this time with a Fallen Army. It is time to avenge my brothers and sisters. Stand with me, Guardian. Prove yourself worthy, and the Iron Lords will rise again," the narration says.

There will be new story, new weapons and armor, new everything - raid, strike zone, and more, coming September 20, 2016 only on the current generation of consoles - PS4 and Xbox One for $30. The Gjallarhorn weapon is back, as well, with an exclusive black version of it available to pre-orders. The regular version of the weapon, however, will be available to all players through a special quest.

"Rise of Iron is the next full expansion for the Destiny universe," Bungie said in the announcement. The game includes a full new campaign, new questlines, new missions, and a cinematic story dealing with a technological plague that was once contained by the Iron Lords, as the trailer teased, but now has returned.. There are three new locations as well, including the Plaguelands, Felwinter Peak, and The Wall with "significant changes" - you can run on top of and beyond the Wall in the expansion. There are also new cooperative experiences including a new Raid, new and updated Strikes, and more Patrols and Public Events. There will be a "significant light level increase" as well, they revealed.
