Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine through seven movies over the course of 14 years. He has mostly received positive feedback in the role, but its not always easy. There are certain physical challenges that you need to overcome to play Wolverine. First off, there's trying to match his height. "I got luck that nobody knew who I was because in the comic books he's famously 5'3"," Jackman told radio station KLUV. "I swear to God, I crouched in every audition that I did and when I shot that first movie it was shoes off, in a ditch, people on platforms around me, so I think I was just lucky that nobody knew me." On top of that, there's the training to get into supehero shape as well as Wolverine's unique facial hair, something that Jackman's wife has mixed feelings about. "Between us, she's not complaining about it," said Jackman, "although she's no big fan of the mutton chops." There's also the fact that Jackman seems to spend a lot of time in these films without a shirt one, something he says he's grown accustomed to, having come from a theater background. "I'm so used to it now it's sort of ridiculous," he said. Jackman can next be seen as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past, coming to theaters May 23.
