Image Expo Affected by San Francisco BART Strike

Striking transit workers in San Francisco are making it difficult to get to and from the Image Expo in the city today, reports the event's Facebook page. The sold-out convention, where it's expected that Robert Kirkman will make a major announcement regarding the tenth anniversary festivities for Skybound's The Walking Dead, will open in about half an hour, but it looks as though some people will be late in arriving. "Image Expo attendees: Due to the BART strike, you will need to plan for traffic delays and parking congestion," the Image Comics Facebook page says. "Carpool if you can!" Bay Area Rapid Transit workers are striking for better wages and improved safety conditions, and on just the pay issues the railroad workers are asking for about three times what the city has been willing to offer. They haven't had a raise in five years and are now asking for staggered raises that amount to about 20% over five years.
