Is Brock Lesnar In The New Assassin's Creed?

Is WWE Superstar and former UFC competitor Brock Lesnar in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate? Probably not, but you might think he was based on some of the concept art shown during Ubisoft's reveal of the new game.

The art in question shows two men fighting in a makeshift arena. As Kotaku reader Adam Curtis noticed, the hulking man in the foreground bears a pretty distinctive set of back tattoos. See for yourself:

The tattoos are identical to Lesnar's own, seen here:

On top of that, the character has similar frame and haircut to Lesnar.

The most likely explanation for this is that a concept artist used one of Lesnar's matches as reference for this particular piece of art. In fact, Kotaku suggests that the opponent "Lesnar" is fighting in the art looks like former UFC champion Frank Mir, so the artist likely referenced one the fight's between the two.

Of course, we won't rule out Lesnar being involved with the game, since Ubisoft hasn't responded to Kotaku's inquiries just yet. Even if he wasn't involved before, the legal implications of Ubisoft using Lesnar's likeness without permission – surely an oversight on the company's part – could always lead to a new deal that wasn't in place before.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate releases on consoles on October 23.
