Israel Idonije Promotes The Protectors on NFL Network

Israel Idonije, who was recently traded to the Detroit Lions, took the opportunity of being on the NFL Network following the trade to talk about The Protectors, his Athleta Comics series with writer Ron Marz and artist Bart Sears. He described the series as "the origin story of the athlete," in which a group of athletes are brought together to save the world from a threat from the stars. As he told ComicBook.com in January, Idonije has been developing the property on and off since 2007, culminating with finally bringing the creative team together late last year to get started on work with Marz and Sears.
