Man Of Steel Box Office

The Man Of Steel flies into movie theaters this weekend, and the fate of the DC Cinematic Universe hangs in the balance. If Superman crash lands with a disappointing box office, then all those fanboy dreams of an Aquaman movie drown. However, if the Man Of Steel soars, then the whole freaking Justice League awaits. Fans can look forward to likely two DC Comics superhero movies a year, as Warner Bros. attempts to keep pace with Disney's Marvel Studios. The good news is that the vast majority are predicting that Man Of Steel will fly high. Warner Bros. is playing it conservative with an $80 million to $85 million opening weekend prediction, but most in the entertainment press seem to be projecting more in the $100 million range. Box Office Mojo has one of the most optimistic projections, calling for a $139 million opening weekend for the Man Of Steel. If Man Of Steel reaches those numbers, then the movie will crush the June opening weekend record. The current record holder for biggest June opening weekend is Toy Story 3, which took in $110 million back in 2010. What are our own projections for Man Of Steel's opening weekend? While the mixed reviews from critics could work against Man Of Steel, the buzz among fans is very positive. The big thing Man Of Steel has on its side is that there's really not that much competition at the box office this weekend. We're thinking Man Of Steel will land in the $125 million to $150 million range, probably on the high side of this range.
