Last night, the Brooklyn Nets blew out the Chicago Bulls to win their first-ever playoff game by a score of 106-89. And, of course, on the sidelines was the BrooklyKnight, a superhero mascot designed by Marvel Comics in cooperation with the Nets organization. The character's name, of course, is a play on the fact that people from Brooklyn are commonly referred to as "Brooklynites." The Nets moved to the borough from New Jersey at the beginning of this season. You can see a bit of the Knight in action in the video below, which was designed as a teaser for the playoff series between the fifth-seeded Bulls and the fourth-seeded Nets. The game marked the first major professional sports franchise to host a playoff game in Brooklyn since the Dodgers lost to the Yankees in Game 7 of the World Series at Ebbets Field in 1956.
