Capcom has officially put the Resident Evil 2 remake into development. The news was announced in a video message from Producer Yoshiaki Hirabyashi, a.k.a. H, from R&D Division 1.
"It's been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved," H says. "The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans' passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want."
No time frame for the remake's release was mentioned, which is to be expected seeing as it has only now gone into official development, but H promises updates soon. In the meantime, Resident Evil fans can look forward to the HD remaster of Resident Evil Zero, releasing in early 2016.
