Scarlett Johansson Offered Lead In Creature From The Black Lagoon

Universal Pictures has offered the starring role in the Creature from fhe Black Lagoon remake to Avengers: Age Of Ultron star Scarlett Johansson, according to the Tracking Board.

Marvel Studios proved that a cinematic universe can work and Universal Pictures wants in on the action. They have Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan working on a connected universe, which will involve updating their classic movie monsters. First up was Dracula Untold, and then we'll get a Mummy reboot and it looks like Creature from the Black Lagoon will follow.

The original Creature from the Black Lagoon was released in 1954. It was about a group of scientists that are off in the Amazon exploring when they come upon a creature that is half-man, half-fish. Kinky! By the way, the creature has a name, Gill-man.

The remake will be produced by Gary Ross, Robin Bissell, Marc Abraham and Eric Newman. The screenplay is by Jeff Blitz, Gary Ross, Tedi Sarafian and Paul Schering.
