Breaking Bad

's Jesse Plemons might be in line for the lead role in Star Wars Episode VII, according to reports coming out of The Wrap. The site says that the actor, who has also appeared in The Master and Battleship, has already auditioned for J.J. Abrams on film but, having made a good impression, will return for a second audition and in-person meeting with the director. Before Breaking Bad, Plemons was arguably best known for his role in the TV adaptation of Friday Night Lights. The Wrap claims to have three separate sources, two of whom are from talent agencies which do not represent Plemons, all claiming that he's a serious contender for the role. It's unknown what role he might be trying out for, but The Wrap speculates that it would likely be the son of Luke Skywalker. Mark Hamill, to whom Plemons bears a passing resemblance, is expected to return to reprise his role from the original Star Wars in the new film, as ar Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. Other casting rumors for the film have generally revolved around some of the most sought-after names in Hollywood right now, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizbeth Olsen and Chloe Grace Moretz. Beyond denying the odd rumor that got out of control, the producers and director have remained silent on the progress of the movie. Star Wars Episode VII is expected in theaters on December 18, 2015. What do you think--would you like to see "that Opie, dead-eyed piece of s--t" in a Star Wars movie?
