After a long summer, TV season is in full swing.

The Flash returned on the CW tonight, after a cliffhanger of epic proportions in the spring, with lots of laughs, tears, and action. Let's take a look at the to 5 moments The Flash's season 2 premiere had to offer in the video below. Be warned, spoilers follow if you have not yet watched the episode.

Atom Smasher Grows

Seeing Edge portray the Atom Smasher was fun in itself, but it is even more fun to see The Flash is continuing to keep the super powers and special abilities, such as growing into a giant, at the forefront.

Stein Names Atom Smasher

While huddling up and deciding how to take on the Atom Smasher, Dr. Stein scientifically named him and earned praise from Cisco. Great moment.

Flash's Inner Conflict

Flash Day is supposed to be a celebration, but for Barry, it's a reminder of when he couldn't save his friend, Ronnie. Going forward, that inner conflict will likely factor into Barry's choices and motivations going forward.

Wells Confession Video

Despite not actually being Harrison Wells, the confession video which exonerated Henry Allen for the murder of his wife was an epic moment Barry has been waiting for for most of his life. It was totally unexpected, as well, which adds to how great the moment was.

Allen Family Reunion

Henry and Barry's reunion was short-lived. The moment summoned tears of joy to the audience but then broke our hearts on a moments notice when Henry said he didn't want to stop Barry from being all he can be.

Honorable Mentions

The Flash-signal paired with Cisco's reference to Batman, "I think I saw it in a comic book," was epic but probably harder confirms the fact that we'll never see Batman in the awesome DC TV Universe. The first appearance of Jay Garrick was also exciting but known in advance, which took away a bit of its astonishment and kept it out of the top 5.

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 PM EST on CW.
