Comedian and voice actor Hank Azaria has signed on to voice the lead in Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane's new animated comedy Bordertown, Deadline reports.

Azaria plays numerous characters on FOX's The Simpsons, including Chief Wiggum and Apu. He's also known for live-action roles like Tuesdays With Morrieand Cradle Will Rock.

Announced at the Television Critics Association presentation, Azaria joins a voice cast that includes Alex Borstein, Missi Pyle and Judah Friedlander. The series is a family comedy set in a fictional Southwest desert town on the U.S. – Mexico border. Azaria's character will be a border guard who sounds a bit like an Archie Bunker-style character, comically behind the times and threatened by the world changing around him.
