About an hour ago, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, who moonlights as the writer of comics like Aquaman, Justice League and Green Lantern, tweeted the cover to Aquaman #7. Though it's only a month or so away, the cover had not previously been revealed, as DC's solicitations showed only a shot of Aquaman from #1 with the notation that previous, interior art was shown. Featuring what appears to be an Atlantean team that each has an artifact linked somehow to Aquaman's trident, the issue promises to shed light not just on the story behind these characters and items, but on how Atlantis ended up at the bottom of the ocean to begin with. So far, nobody on his Twitter feed or at ComicVine (the only other site up this late on a Saturday, apparently) have identified any of the characters, if in fact they are existing DC heroes--although when the issue was originally solicited there was some fan speculation that his undersea team may turn out to be a reinvented version of DC's Sea Devils.
