Daryl Dixon is not afraid of nothing in a new promo for The Walking Dead released by AMC. The promo starts out with walkers converging on the smoking ruins of the prison, before showing Rick and Carl Grimes limping away. A voiceover from Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, says "I only clung to that for you. We'll never get things back to the way they used to be." In addition to showing a battered Rick and Carl fending for themselves away from the prison, there are also glimpses of Daryl Dixon, Tyreese, Beth Greene, Maggie Greene, and Lizzie. While Daryl professes to not be afraid, Tryeese is voicing concern that he needs to find a safe place soon. Beth chimes in, "You've got to stay who you are." Following the devastating events of the mid-season finale, Rick and the group are still reeling from the loss of their home, family, and friends. With the destruction of the prison, we see the group of survivors broken apart and sent on divergent paths, unsure of everyone else's fate. What was a challenging life behind fences and walls grows that much more perilous and precious as they are exposed to new dangers, new enemies, and heartbreaking choices. They will have their faith thoroughly tested -- a faith that breaks some of them and redeems others. The Walking Dead Season 4 returns on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 9 PM ET.
