It’s been proven time and again that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a suitable remedy for just about anything that isn’t named Roman Reigns, and there are any number of franchises would love to infuse themselves with some of that successful Rock magic.

In addition to his help with G.I. Joe Retaliation and his reinvigorating of the Fast & Furious franchise, he is involved in the upcoming Baywatch reboot and is a big part of the next entry in the Jumanji series, a series that most never expected a sequel from.

The Rock has never been one to limit himself, and so potential franchisees can include any number of genres, and this list certainly features a few. That said, Rock does love his action films, so it would be unwise to ignore those completely either.

Here are our top 5 picks for properties The Rock should reboot next.

Chronicles Of Narnia

Once you get Lazy Sunday out of your head, try envisioning Johnson as the key villain in the next reinterpretation of the Chronicles of Narnia franchise. Four kids team up with Aslan and his army to fight the White Witch, but instead of Tilda Swinton fans will get Dwayne “The White Witch” Johnson.

The White Witch had her minions do most of her dirty work, including fightingย Aslan’s army on the battlefield, but not Johnson. No no, Johnson’s White Witch would attack Aslan with his bare hands, and when defeated in that climatic scene would utter a patented “DO YOU SMELLLLLLLLL” into an imaginary microphone, because you know, they don’t have microphones in Narnia.

If you wanted to go the babyface route, the studio could always cast him as Mr. Tumnus. He can be quite endearing, though it would be odd to see him on two small hooves. To be fair, fans bought him on giant scorpion legs, so maybe it’s not as big a stretch as one might assume.

Dragonball Z

The Rock doesn’t often get to play the villain, but in a relaunched DragonBall Z film franchise, the actor would have the opportunity to do just that in an imposing way.

Well, not imposing all the time. If Johnson were to play the role of Broly for instance, he would start out in his frailer and less imposing form. Think along the lines of Chris Evans from Captain America: The First Avengers before his transformation. By film’s end, he would be in legendary super Saiyan form, complete with ridiculousย musclesย and glowing blonde hair.

The Rock is known for his expressive facialย reactions, something he displayed night in and night out as part of the WWE, which would serve him well here, as half the film would just be him grimacing.

Escape From New York

If there was a project more in The Rock’s wheelhouse than Escape From New York, it must not be of this planet.

Seriously, the role was made for him, and he doesn’t even need a mullet to pull it off. There could even be a time travel element that introduced Kurt Russell’s Snake Pliskin into the mix, ala J.J. Abrams Star Trek series, which takes place in an alternate timeline.

Johnson’s brings a certain amount of natural flair to a firefight, and this franchise has always been full of them. It’s been dormant for far too long, and The Rock is just the person to bring it back.

Fantastic Four

FOX has rebooted the Fantastic Four numerous times now, and even the more successfulย films have yet to truly land.

That sounds like a job for Rock, who could bring his boisterous personality to the team as The Thing. He’s a perfect fit for the muscle of the group, only this time around there wouldn’t be any makeup or prosthetics. The Rock doesn’t need prostheticsย to take out some Jabronis, and having the other three all in costume while Rock appears as if he just rolled out of bed would be a nice avenue for comedic gold.

The Rock Thing

ย

Sherlock Holmes

Robert Downey Jr. will most likely be reteaming with Jude Law for another in their Sherlock Holmes series, but if by chance that doesn’t materialize, the studio could always relaunch the franchise with Johnson and one of his hilarious pals.

Kevin Hart and Johnson teamed up for the hit comedy Central Intelligence, and are reteamingย for the Jumanji sequel. Having The Rock play Holmes with a Hart Watson right alongside him would be comedy gold, especially with Hart always looking at things through a magnifyingย glass and refusing to take off his favoriteย bowler hat.

The two have a unique chemistry, and seeing them trying to solve serious mysteries could make for an entertaining ride.
