When The Walking Dead returns in October, five long months from now, we will see the aftermath of where the series left off in its season 6 finale. Someone will be killed, we know that much.

While the most common expectation is that the season 7 premiere will begin right where season 6 ended, a new theory has spawned out of Robert Kirkman's recent Reddit AMA. Kirkman defended the finale to several fans but in doing so, said there are "two halves" of the finale.

Right off the bat, most assume that it's literally two halves of the story with the first half being told in April's finale and the second half being told in October's premiere. However, some fans are speculating that the other half could be the side of the story we didn't see in the finale.

With Daryl having been shot in the penultimate episode of season six, Michonne, Rosita, Glenn, and his story of arriving at the same location as Rick was never told. Throughout the finale, though, we were given a look inside of the van which they were being kept inside of. Some fans believe that the season 7 premiere will be told from the victim's perspective, citing the POV shots taking place in the van and when their head was bashed in.

Kirkman did promise season 7 is "very strong" while defending the choice to go the cliffhanger route. Whether it picks up right where we left off or goes the way of this new theory, the writers better be careful. Fans are angry.

How do you think The Walking Dead's cliffhanger will play out?
