Happy Birthday Daisy Ridley!
Ridley turns 24 today. The English actress, born in Westminster, London, on April 10, 1992, began her acting career on television before being cast in her break-out role of Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Cast in February 2014, the true nature of her role as the Jedi heir-apparent in the film was kept secret until its release in December 2015.
Ridley's performance in the revival of the Star Wars franchise has met almost universal praise, earning her Breakthrough or Newcomer awards and nominations, including awards from Empire and the MTV Movie Awards, which she earned the night before her birthday.
She's currently shooting the next chapter of the series, Star Wars: Episode VIII, for a December 15, 2017 release. Ridley's star continues to be on the rise, as the actress is also reportedly the lead contender for a Tomb Raider reboot, rumored for an October, 2017 release - it could be the Autumn of Ridley next year.
