If Mark Hamill were ever to be recast for the role of Luke Skywalker in a movie which would revisit the character’s younger form, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Sebastian Stan looks to be the man for the job.

Memes and photos comparing Stan and Hamill’s appearances have long been tossed around by fans across social media, some of whom are hoping to see Luke Skywalker on the big screen again outside of the current Episode VII, VIII, and IX trilogy. To do so, one possibility is following the lead of the upcoming Han Solo film, and recasting the iconic character with a younger actor.
Stan already bares a striking resemblance to a younger Mark Hamill and with a new image created by graphic designer BossLogic, the comparison may transition into a wishlist item for fans.

It’s hard to tell the difference between the two actors as the iconic Luke Skywalker!
Stan is best known for his role as Bucky Barnes through three installments of Marvel Studios’ Captain America franchise and will next appear in Avengers: Infinity War. If he doesn’t take the shield from Captain America going forward, maybe the actor will visit a galaxy far, far away.
Of course, recasting a character so close to so many fans is a scary thought and would put a tremendous amount of effort on Stan to deliver. Still, it would be nothing more than the responsibility bestowed upon Alden Ehrenreich for Solo: A Star Wars Story where he steps into the shoes once filled by Harrison Ford.
The next chapter of the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, hits theaters on Decemebr 16, 2017.
