When Star Wars: The Force Awakens reignited the franchise two years ago, it introduced a ton of new characters and mysteries in the battle between the Dark and Light Sides for generations old and new.

One of the new trilogy's central mysteries has to do with the parentage of Rey, and actor Daisy Ridley said she thinks fans will be excited when they finally learn the answer in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Ridley was speaking with Yahoo! Japan about her role in the new film, when she revealed she hopes the revelation satisfies fans.

"Whatever the answer is, I hope everyone will enjoy that moment," Ridley said. "I knew the answer a few years ago, but the story that Rian Johnson created was so wonderful I couldn't believe it, honestly I was very moved. I think that everyone will be in that moment."

The identity of Rey's parents is one of the most debated theories in the Star Wars canon right now, maybe second to who Supreme Leader Snoke is.

But spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi have been kept under wraps, with director Rian Johnson being very careful about what the trailers reveal about the new film. However, trailers and merchandising tend to let some things slip, but actors generally know what they should and shouldn't say.

Which is why it was surprising when co-star Adam Driver possibly gave up a major hint about Rey's true identity during his profile with GQ.

""You have, also, the hidden identity of this princess who's hiding who she really is so she can survive and Kylo Ren and her hiding behind these artifices," Driver said, speaking about Rey.

Driver was speaking about the similarities between his portrayal of Kylo Ren and Ridley's character Rey, but he may have revealed something he wasn't supposed to.

So will Rey end up being a Skywalker? An Organa-Solo? A Palpatine? Or maybe even a Kenobi? Or something else entirely?

We'll find out when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters on December 15.
