The Walking Dead introduced us to a whole new side of Negan. His inner comedian came out as the villain marched into Alexandria to pay the Safe-Zone its first visit.

Negan showed up to Rick’s community demanding half of their stuff be his and toured the community selecting what half would actually mean. All the while, he spewed insults and remarks about Rick, Alexandria, and his victims which viewers should be ashamed of themselves for laughing at.

In fact, most of the dialogue was ripped straight from Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comics. It was likely the most accurately adapted episode of the entire series to date.

As we run through five of Negan’s most outrageous lines from Service, be warned, they can be quite offensive and loaded with spoilers.

Manbush

Early in Negan’s arrival to Alexandria, the villain finds the Alexandria Safe-Zone’s original leader Deanna’s camera. Of course, he plays it back and sees the tape bearded Rick Grimes being interviewed by Deanna.ย

“Is that you, Rick? Underneath all of that manbush?” Negan remarked. “I would not have messed with that guy! But that’s not you anymore, is it?”

The look on Rick’s face said it all as he had to stay completely backed down the man who refuses to quit rubbing his rule into Rick’s face.

This line was one of the rare moments which was not directly adapted from the original The Walking Dead comics.

Widows…

Less than a week after killing Glenn and Abraham, Negan is already mocking their deaths when talking about their loved ones. He was eager to see Maggie again but Father Gabriel wisely faked her death.

“She was married to number two, right?” Negan asked.

“Widows, especially ones that look like that?” he went on. “Right after their husbands go, they are just empty inside. But usually not for long!”

The sexual remarks are trademarks of Negan’s dialogue from the comics, though he enforces a strict no-rape policy among the Saviors which was on display in last week’s The Cell episode.

Theย dialogue in these moments didn’t stop there, though. When Father Gabriel approached Negan, he startled the menace quite a bit.

“You as are creepy as shit!” Negan said. “Sneaking up on me wearing that collar with that freaky ass smile!”

The Fat Lady

One of the many moments pulled straight from The Walking Dead graphic novels was Negan’s discovery of Olivia – the Alexandrian in charge of rationing guns and food to the community.

“I can’t be the only one to notice that you got a fat lady in charge of keeping track of rations, can I?” Negan said.

The dialogue went on for quite some time in the garage as Rick and Negan stayed behind to talk more. It was an almost word for word adaptation of the conversation as it went down in the books.

The ever-generous Negan was kind enough not to take any of Alexandria’s food, as he pointed out toward the end of the speech. Of course, that was a self-serving act, as well. “You starve to death, I don’t get s—,” Negan said.

Man-Sized

The only member of the Alexandria community who stood up to the Saviors as they marched around taking whatever they please was Carl. Little Mr. Grimes pulled a gun on the new foes as they took all of Alexandria’s medicine.

Negan wasn’t having it.

“Pardon me young man and excuse the s— out of my g—— French but did you just threaten me?” Negan said.

Rick tried to interject, telling Carl to listen to Negan and back down immediately, but Negan wasn’t having that either. He turned his attention back to Carl.

“Where were we?” Negan asked. “Oh yeah, your giant man-sized balls! No threatening us.”

Of course, Carl was on hand for Negan’s introductory slaying of Abraham and Glenn, so when he was reluctant to listen, Negan reminded him.

“Do you want me to prove how serious, again?”

Thank You

In what will surely be one of both the most controversial and fan-favorite lines from Sunday’s episode, Negan completely emasculated Rick by taking his mattress, joking about his girl, and delivering the most belittling line possible.

After Rick handed over all of Alexandria’s guns and most of their stuff, Negan had won. He took his Lucille bat back from Rick, who was forced to carry it all around his community, and thanked Rick for the accomodation.

“In case you haven’t caught on, I just slid my d— down your throat, and you thanked me for it,” Negan said.

The line was ripped straight from the pages of Robert Kirkman’s comics. Specifically, it happened in issue #103.
