Several talents have left WWE over the course of this year, whether due to cuts or deciding not to sign a new deal. Stars like Sonya Deville, Tegan Fox, Cedric Alexander, The Good Brothers, Isla Dawn, Elektra Lopez, Karrion Kross and Scarlett, Carmella, Dakota Kai, Cora Jade, and Braun Strowman have all left WWE at some point this year, and in Kross’ case, there was a deal on the table, but he chose not to re-sign. Now another WWE superstar has followed suit and decided not to re-sign, and they’ve also explained why they decided to part ways with not just WWE, but perhaps wrestling overall.

Those who watched this week’s WWE NXT will have noticed a backstage segment that featured Fatal Influence’s Jazmyn Nyx, as cameras found her on the ground after a mysterious attack. That results in her teammates Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne leaving her there and essentially kicking her out of the group. Now we know it’s because Nyx (real name Jade Arianna Gentile) decided not to re-sign with WWE, and she’s revealed the reasoning why.
Goodbye to WWE
On TikTok, Gentile revealed that she had been offered a multiyear deal, but decided not to re-sign (via @JesseRodPodcast). โAs you know, thereโs been things circulating and I wanna just set the record straight that I am not re-signing with WWE. This was a personal decision I had to make for myself and for my future personally. The contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasnโt going to cut it for me financially, and thatโs okay,” Gentile said (H/T Cageside Seats).
โI just wanted to give a backstory of everything. I was playing professional soccer in Iceland and then I got recruited obviously to WWE, which I left everything out there to come here for this opportunity, which Iโm very grateful for,” Gentile said. “I was held back a little in the beginning. I had four knee surgeries, so I had to recover and rebuild my knees in order to step in the ringโฆ.I broke my nose. Thatโs why I was wearing the mask. I had other injuries, concussions that kind of kept me out of TV for a little bit. Weโll say that thereโs been a lot of opportunities that Iโve had to turn down and pass up, but now that I am out of the job, I can explore these opportunities more and take them more seriously.”
โI love my Jazmyn Nyx fans. Thank you guys so much for. Supporting me and having my back for the past three years. Itโs been amazing journey and I will miss you guys. And yeah, that is it for Jazmyn Nyx. So thank you guys for watching and I love you guys so much,” Gentile said.
From Gentile’s comments, it certainly seems that wrestling might not be something she’s going to return to for a while, even outside of WWE. That said, it seems like she’s got a few opportunities she’s excited to pursue, so hopefully it won’t be too long before we see her in the mix somewhere.
