The Flash season two is out on Blu-ray and DVD today, giving fans about a month to binge on the season in preparation for season three. Both editions feature three hours of bonus content, including four featurettes, visual effects behind-the-scenes, two panels, deleted scenes and a gag reel, all on top of the twenty-three episodes. The combo pack includes the Digital HD edition, as well, letting fans take their favorite episodes on the road.

With this exclusive clip from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, ComicBook.com gives you an early look at two of those featurettes. The majority of the clip comes from the featurette "Chasing Flash - The Journey of Kevin Smith," telling the story of how director Kevin Smith came in to direct the very pivotal, emotional, and incredibly well-received episode of The Flash season two that saw Barry confront himself and his own demons within the mysterious Speed Force.

"We were all excited about the prospect of him coming in, for sure," said star Grant Gustin in the clip. "The more important thing has always been the emotion, the family dynamic. It's such a perfect episode for Kevin because he is such a fanboy of this genre and has become such a fan of the show.

"All of our episodes have the three Hs, heart, humor, and heroics, and Kevin achieves that really well."

Gustin also expressed his desire to see Kevin Smith back on the set in Season 3, something that has since been confirmed.

"Kevin has done a really good job of bringing the morale of the crew up to a level that I don't know if it's ever been at," Gustin gushed. "After my first day with Kevin, I told him that we gotta get him for at least three to four episodes next year. To have someone like him consistently around would only be an incredible thing for our show. It's nice to have someone remind you how epic this is."

The clip also shows other stars talking about Kevin Smith, and teases a behind-the-scenes feature of Zoom with voice actor Tony Todd. Check it out above, and own the Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD now.
