As we get closer to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, movement is already starting on the next Star Wars spinoff which will feature Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo. Now there are new reports that more casting announcements are coming soon for the female lead.

According to Variety, there are three actresses in the running for the lead part, which is currently unknown. In consideration for the part is Selma and Creed star Tessa Thompson, Power Rangers and Terra Nova star Naomi Scott, and Divergent and Mad Max: Fury Road's Zoe Kravitz, who all were in London vying for the role.

While an official announcement of who exactly they are casting for is probably a ways off, there are those in the community who believe this could be Sana Solo. Sana was revealed to be Han Solo's wife in the recent Star Wars comic series from writer Jason Aaron and artist John Cassaday. According to Han, the union was a means to an end for a job the two were working together, but Sana doesn't necessarily see it that way.

A decision isn't going to be made for a few weeks according to those same sources, which state that the role of Lando Calrissian is currently being cast as well.

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.
