When it comes to Hollywood, there are plenty of unsolved mysteries still lying around and waiting to be solved. These days, one of the biggest whodunits rest with the fate of Deadpool and its leaked test footage. The action-packed reel sat in a strange limbo for nearly four years over at 20th Century Fox before the clip was suddenly published online. Fans were sent into a frenzy over the footage, prompting the studio to green-light a full movie, but the question remains. Who exactly leaked the footage for Deadpool?

Well, according to Reynolds, the mystery may never be solved. However, he is glad someone had the guts to do it.
In a recent interview with Variety, Reynolds talked about the affair and credited the leaked footage for Deadpool's existence.
"When the leaked footage got around the internet, it created this enormous groundswell," Reynolds said. "I credit Twitter users, Facebook users, and Instagram users for getting this movie made."
However, the star will absolutely not say a word about who leaked the footage. Presumably, the job was an inside one by a studio executive, but Reynolds won't take chances with revealing the culprit's identity. "I have an entertainment lawyer. I'll leave it at that," he explained.
Of course, this is not the first time that Reynolds has opened up about the leak. Last February, the star talked to Jimmy Fallon about the ordeal and said he is about 70% sure he had not part in the leak.
"I know that one of us did it," Reynolds said. "There's four of us. There's me, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Tim Miller, the director. One of us did it. We all sort of said at the beginning, 'Someone should leak it. Someone should leak it'…but I'm 70 percent sure it wasn't me."
Fans clearly have their suspicions over who illicitly released the footage. The Hollywood Reporter looked into the matter and dug deep to find out who the most likely suspect was. At the end, the site said it was nearly certain that director Tim Miller or someone close to him was the man behind the upload.
So, what do you think? Does the culprit's identity matter, or are you happy enough knowing that the footage was made public in the end?
