Marvel Teases Spider-Man Going To Jail

Marvel Comics recently released a slew of information and cover art for their upcoming Legacy initiative, homaging some of the most iconic covers in their publishing history with new spins on familiar characters.

But one of the most intriguing covers hints at a dire future for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Check out the animated image below which pays homage to the landmark Captain America #260 cover for Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man.



Chip Zdarsky recently launched the new Spider-Man series with Adam Kubert and Jordie Bellaire after an original story in Marvel's Free Comic Book Day offering. It seems like it won't be long before ole' Webhead suffers another serious case of Parker Luck and winds up behind bars.

The first issue of the series ended with a huge cliffhanger, so if you don't want to see the SPOILER we suggest you quit reading now.

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #1 featured the return of Teresa Parker, who may-or-may-not be his sister. Teresa was first introduced in the 2014 original graphic novel Spider-Man: Family Business by Mark Waid, James Robinson, Gabriele Dell'Otto, and Werther Dell'Edera. She is a CIA agent who teams up with Peter to take on the Kingpin.


However, that story cast a bit of doubt on Teresa's claims, leaving the mystery open to explore in future stories. It seems like the new series will pick up that thread and hopefully explain what the heck is going on.

Maybe Teresa's shenanigans will get the better of her brother and he'll wind up in jail. We'll find out as Marvel releases more information about Legacy and Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man in the future.
