Much of the focus in Wonder Woman's trailers has been on Diana and her journey into man's world. What she encounters there is a bit of a culture shock, and Danny Huston's General Erich Ludendorff plays a big part in that.
Huston described Diana's reaction to mankind's society infrastructure and behaviors, saying "I suppose her shock being an outsider is to see us humans, mankind, behave the way that we do, and it's kind of fascinating to see the world through her eyes as a comment on us. Because she is in a way this wonderful romantic supreme noble beautiful upstanding character."
He also described his relationship to the other villain in the film, Elena Anaya's Doctor Poison, though she probably prefers Doctor Maru. "Ludendorff's relationship to Doctor Maru is, in a way she is the key to his success. There's a dreadful formula that needs to be designed that will facilitate victory, and in that sense, he sees her as a genius. A doctor with a mathematical equation that solves his problems.

The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
The DCEU continues with Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
