Cameras started rolling in Senoia, Georgia on The Walking Dead Season 4 on Monday. The first day went pretty well, as new showrunner Scott M. Gimple tweeted, “Day 1:S4:TWD, complete. We even did some of the bonus levels.”However, there are some unique problems that tend to arise when filming a TV show set after a zombie apocalypse. Yesterday, Gimple tweeted, “As u hear aeroplanes fly overhead, keep a kind thought 4 the difficulties of those who record scenes of dialogue set after the world’s end.”For Scott M. Gimple to tweet about the issue, it’s likely that he’s already had a couple scene re-shoots due to airplane noise. Many have wondered why The Walking Dead shoots in a small town in Georgia, and one answer is probably that airplane and other modern day noises would be an ever greater problem in a larger city.Early reports from the set indicate that a ton of extras have been showing up for the early days of shooting, which could suggest that Rick and his group face a big zombie herd in the very first episode. The Governor’s truck has also been spotted on the set, so it’s likely that fans might not have to wait long to find out what The Governor’s been up to.The Walking Dead Season 4 premieres in Fall 2013 on AMC.
