The brothers have directed more than thirty episodes of the cult-hit sitcom between them, including the pilot and the famed “paintball episodes” in the first two seasons. Two of those episodes came during Season Five, while the brothers were in post-production on Winter Soldier.

This year, with the show leaving NBC in favor of a streaming service and the Russos prepping Captain America 3 and directing two episodes of Marvel’s Agent Carter, it didn’t seem likely they would return…but they are, at least for one episode.

“We will be returning. We’re going to do the first episode [of Season 6] for those guys,” Anthony Russo said. “We’re going to have a little fun with that episode. [Community executive producers] Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna are cooking up something very cool for us.”

He added, “The quality is always so high for the scripts on that show, so it’s very exciting to tear into one of those scripts as a director.”

During a recent interview with ComicBook.com, the filmmakers explained that before coming to Marvel, TV was where they felt the most comfortable, as they’d managed to build themselves a reputation on shows like Community and Arrested Development that allowed them some creative freedom.

Danny Pudi, who plays Abed Nadir on Community, appeared briefly in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which launched on streaming platforms today and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD September 9. Captain America 3 will be due in theaters on May 6, 2016.
