Fox’s X-Files revival has added Community’s Joel McHale to the cast as a guest star.

McHale will play Tad O’Malley, a conservative news anchor who becomes a surprising ally to Fox Mulder (David Duchovny).
McHale is the first new name added to the X-Files cast since the revival was announced. He’ll be joining returning original series stars Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, and Mitch Pileggi.
Creator Chris Carter is writing the scripts for the 6-episode limited event.
The X-Files will begin airing on Fox on January 24, 2016.
