Wizkids has provided ComicBook.com with three exclusive previews from DC Comics HeroClix: Harley Quinn and the Gotham Girls.
DC Comics HeroClix: Harley Quinn and the Gotham Girls features a wide variety of characters, including Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, and more. Also making their HeroClix debut are the popular DC Bombshell versions of iconic DC Comics heroines like Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Batwoman, Supergirl, and more.
Also included in the set are some of Harley Quinn’s teammates from the Suicide Squad, members of the Batman family, classic Batman villains, and members of the Female Furies of Apokolips. Members of the Justice Society of America and Secret Six also make appearances in the set, and the Justice League gods from the “Darkseid War” storyline are the set’s chase figures.
The set includes more than 60 figures in total. There’s also a DC Comics HeroClix: Harley Quinn and the Gotham Girls Fast Forces pack, featuring the Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, and Joker from the Thrillkiller Elseworlds Universe, as well as a DC Comics HeroClix: Harley Quinn and the Gotham Girls Dice and Token Pack.
As fans may expect from the name, this new set shines the spotlight on Harley Quinn herself, the ever-popular character who first debuted in Batman: The Animated Series 25 years ago and has since become an indispensable icon of the DC Universe and the DC Extended Universe.
In her 25 years of existence, Harley Quinn has gone through a series of changes and redesigns, from classic Animated Series Harley to Suicide Squad Harley, to roller derby Harley, and most, if not all of these versions of Harley are represented in this HeroClix set.
That includes a version of Harley before she became Harley Quinn, represented by the Dr. Harleen Quinzel figure.
Dr. Harleen Quinzel
Dr. Harleen Quinzel is an uncommon figure in the set that costs 40 points and has the Arkham Asylum and Scientist keywords.
The figure represents Harleen’s infatuation with the Joker with the trait “I don’t Know What Came Over Meโฆ,” which gives friendly units named The Joker an extra ability: “POWER: Give an adjacent friendly character named Dr. Harleen Quinzel any action at no cost.”
Harleen also has a special damage power called “I See…So You’re The Real Victim Here.” The power gives her Perplex, but only to target opposing characters, as well as Outwit, but only to target a character she targeted with Perplex that is 100 points or more.
Catwoman
Batman’s favorite villain, Catwoman, is also represented in the set with a rare figure that harkens back to her 1990s appearance.
The 50-point Catwoman figure has a single keyword, Gotham City Underworld, and two traits. “Whip It” lets her swing her signature weapon far with Giant Reach: 3, while “Got There First” messes with an opponent’s ability to interact with objects. The trait reads, “When an opposing character would pick up an object, you may roll a d6. 4-6: place that object in Catwoman’s square instead.”
Catwoman also has a special movement power for most of her dial called “No Man’s Land,” referencing the major Batman comic book event. The power grants her Sidestep and Stealth.
Grail
Making her first appearance in HeroClix form is Grail, the daughter of Darkseid. Grail is a chase figure, filling out this set’s “Darkseid War” chase theme, and comes in at 175 points with the Amazon, Apokolips, Assassin, and Deity keywords.
Grail has a single trait called “Corrupt Your Will.” The trait reads “Whenever an opposing character within 6 squares uses willpower, after resolutions you may heal 1 click.”
Grail also has two late-dial special powers. The first is an attack power called “Goddess of Anti-Life.” The power grants Grail the Quintessence team ability and a range value of six, as well as “At the beginning of your turn, you may deal 1 penetrating damage to all opposing characters within 6 squares.”
The second power is a special damage power called “Empower You to Destroy the Anti-Monitor.” The power gives Grail a special form of Perplex that reads “When Grail uses it and targets another character, you may instead modify all of the target’s combat values by +2.”
