This week, wrestling superstar Cody Rhodes will make his on-screen debut in Arrow. He was first tapped for The CW series after Rhodes faced off with Stephen Amell came to the WWE for a much-anticipated smackdown. The actor then invited Rhodes to the set of Arrow to nab a role in the show’s fifth season. And, now, the wrestler is promoting his upcoming appearance on the show with a pair of bright green tights.

No, really.
Rhodes took to Twitter last night to debut his new wrestling gear at a Cross Rhodes event. The pictures show Rhodes in white boots and green tights which feature plenty of Arrow logos. Most notably, the phrase ‘Season 5’ is printed on the backside of Rhodes’ tights to promote the series.
“So…Arrow fans & wrestling fans alike,” Rhodes tweeted. “I ABSOLUTELY commissioned a special pair of tights for tonight’s match. Last match before 10/19.”
This isn’t the only wrestling gear that Rhodes has had made to promo his Arrow love. He posted a photo earlier this month that showed him in a ‘Team Rhodes’ jacket. The backside of the jacket also features the words, “Destroy Queen,” nodding at the villainous role that Rhodes plays on Arrow.
The wrestler is set to make his first appearance on Arrow this week in “A Matter of Trust.” You can check out the synopsis for the episode below:
“WWE STAR CODY RHODES BRINGS THE SMACKDOWN TO STAR CITY โ Now that Oliver (Stephen Amell) has his new team, they are ready to hit the streets but Oliver doesn’t feel they are ready. Headstrong Wild Dog (guest star Rick Gonzalez) defies the Green Arrow’s orders and sets out on his own after a new drug dealer, Garret Runnels (guest star Cody Rhodes), who is terrorizing Star City. Runnels proves more powerful than Wild Dog and it is up to the Green Arrow to go head to head with Runnels to save his teammate.”
Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.
So far, fans know little about Rhodes’ character aside from his less-than-honorable behavior. The role is described as that of a drug dealer who clashes with Team Arrow as he makes his dealings around Star City.
Arrow airs on The CW Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
