While the Oscar-winning actor has appeared in a wide range of films over the years, he’s most well-known in the comic community for portraying Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s ever-popular Dark Knight Trilogy. The actor played the classic role in all three films, and was widely celebrated for his take on the character.

While Batman is the character that most fans will recognize, it’s just a blip on the screen throughout the career of this legendary actor.
Bale was born in Wales, in 1974, and he began acting professionally at the age of 13. After nabbing a prominent role in Steven Spielberg’s Empire Of The Sun, it was off to the races for young Bale.
Five years later, the actor impressed with his performance in Disney’s musical, The Newsies. It was a couple of years after however, that Bale became a star.
Christian Bale starred in the dark psychological thriller American Psycho, and instantly rose to Hollywood stardom. While the role was demented, it showed just how tremendous of a range the actor possessed.
From there, Bale went on to star in numerous successful films. This included The Machinist, Rescue Dawn, The Prestige, 3:10 To Yuma, Public Enemies, American Hustle, and The Big Short.
Bale reached the pinnacle in 2011, when he won his first and only Academy Award. He earned the award for Best Actor In A Supporting Role, for his turn as Dicky Eklund in The Fighter.
