When you get asked by Warner Bros. to direct a DC movie, you accept and then hit the drawing board. And, if you are David F. Sandberg, you do the latter step quite literally.

Over on Twitter, the director took a moment to tease DC Extended Universe fans about his newly announced project. Sandberg was confirmed to direct Shazam! just last week, and netizens have been quick to chat up the Lights Out executive about the film. So, when Sandberg was asked about the hero’s costume, the Shazam! master had something to show.

When a fan asked if Sandberg would “mind giving us some concept art,” the director delivered. Well, for the most part.

“As long as you don’t forget this is a work in progress,” the director answered with a handmade sketch of Shazam! all suited up. The crude image is just a step above a stick figure, and it shows the DC hero donning a red-and-yellow suit with a vague lightning bolt symbol on it. Across the top, the word ‘Shablam!’ can be read, and fans have been fast to pick on the poor hero’s bald head.

Of course, Sanberg was ribbing at bit at the DCEU fandom; The group is a passionate one, and their hunger for behind-the-scene looks is never satisfied. Sandberg was only brought on officially last week to the film, and Shazam! is very much in its early development stages. Reports have said the film will be the next one the DCEU gets underway, so fans should expect to hear some news soon. The coming months will see Shazam! undergo its principal photography, and Sandberg may be so kind as to give fans a real look at the DC hero then.

There’s no official synopsis for Shazam! or Black Adam, but here’s what Johnson had to say about the latter film over on Instagram:
