Just as Suicide Squad debuted at the top of the box office, the Suicide Squad soundtrack has debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart for the week ending Aug. 11. The album earned 182,000 equivalent album units.

The Suicide Squad soundtrack was released by WaterTower Music/Atlantic Records on the same day that the film hit theaters, Aug. 5. Suicide Squad is the first soundtrack to top the Billboard 2000 chart in about a year, since Disney’s Descendants debuted on top of the chart dated Aug. 22, 2015. The Suicide Squad soundtrack features new music by Panic! at the Disco, Skrillex & Rick Ross, Twenty One Pilots and others.
It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
Suicide Squad is written and directed by David Ayer and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Karen Fukuhara, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne.
