The CW has cast Sugar Lyn Beard as Rebecca Sharpe, also known as the DC Comics villain Hazard, in the fourth season of The Flash. Beard was spotted in Vancouver in her Hazard costume in late July.
Beard is most recognizable from her role in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. She’ll appear in the third episode of The Flash‘s upcoming season.
The Flash‘s Rebecca Sharpe is described as being “perpetually down on her luck” as if her life were cursed until a “freak accident” changes her fortunes.
In the DC Comics universe, Hazard was a villain with the power to psionically manipulate probabilities. She joined a version of the Injustice Society that called itself Injustice Unlimited.
Beard is just the latest new face to join The Flash in its fourth season. Hartley Sawyer will be introduced as DC Comics hero The Elongated Man, and Danny Trejo will play Breacher, a bounty hunter from another Earth. Neil Sandilands plays the season’s primary villain, The Thinker, and Kim Engelbrecht will play The Thinker’s henchman, The Mechanic. The rivalry between The Flash and The Thinker is being billed as “The fastest man alive versus the fastest mind alive.”
The Flash Season Four seems to be loading up on new villains, but that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about the old ones. Danielle Panabaker promises fans of Killer Frost that they won’t be disappointed by the show’s new season.
The Flash Season Three ended on a surprising note when Barry Allen disappeared into the Speed Force. Most of his friends are determined to bring him back, though at least one member of Team Flash is conflicted by the idea.
Some of the struggles in The Flash Season Four will be a bit more personal. For example, Cisco Ramon and Gypsy will be dealing with the struggles inherent in maintaining a long-distance relationship.
The Flash returns to The CW on Oct. 10th.
