Big things are expected from Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman movie, and the tracking for opening weekend box office continues to increase.

Part of that is thanks to a stellar reception from early reviews and screenings of the film, which built upon the character’s already strong fan base. Now the film has opened to $6.3 million in Asian markets, raising current tracking to $95 million for opening weekend stateside (via THR).
Those Asian markets don’t include China’s massive audience either, and tracking also suggests that the movie will take in over $100 million overseas. Previous estimates put the domestic number around $80 million, while some believe it will hit north of $100 million.
If the film does hit that domestic $95 million number, it will be the largest domestic opening for a female director ever, and will hopefully pave the way for more female director led films.

The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
The DCEU continues with Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
