Injustice 2 is the perfect fighter game for both new and veteran fans of DC Comics. Since the game’s release, more characters have been added, guilds are gaining traction, and new skins are becoming available. As the game continues to pick up momentum, new concept art has been revealed to give an inside look at what some of these characters looked like in the beginning stages of development.

The first pieces of conceptual art feature Scarecrow with a rough sketch (far left), color rough (middle), and final design (far right). In the world of DC Comics, Scarecrow, AKA Dr. Jonathan Crane, is the “Master of Fear.” With an obsessive personality, and a manic perception of the world around him, he uses his knowledge of psychology to create scenarios meant to breed fear in his victims and exploit their phobias.
Bane
Darkness is definitelyย Bane’s ally with this next installment of concept art. With the dark hues and head to toe coverage, Bane looks notably different than his in-game counterpart. For those unfamiliar with this character, he is an incredibly intelligent fighter and an absolute genius when it comes to the strategy of aggression. With aย painfully isolated childhood, traumatized further by the cruel death of his mother at the tender age of 6, he then dedicated himself to honing both his physical and intellectual strengths.ย
“After Superman’s defeat, Bane was betrayed by the Regime and relentlessly pursued by Batman. Having already spent most of his life in prison, he is determined to take revenge against his former Regime masters and turn Gotham into a city where his rule is law.”ย

Swamp Thing
Swamp Thing doesn’t look drastically different than his final product with the title’s release. With a more realistic touch to his overall look, his beginning stages took a more organic comic book feel. Less glowy, more ‘I don’t want to mess with that’ – though the eyes remained the same.ย
Unlike Bane and Scarecrow, Swamp Thing is a hero. His aim to protect all things green, as well as humanity, from terroristicย threats has created a level of dynamicmย for this character that makes his story incredibly interesting.ย When he was first introduced as Alex Olsen, a scientist that was nearly killed by a co-worker over the love of his wife, DC fans saw a tragic tale of transformation and, ultimately, loss.
“The living elemental, Swamp Thing is the protector of all plant life, what he refers to as “the Green.” As the violent affairs of humanity threaten to impact flora worldwide, Swamp Thing prepares his return to the fray to defend “the Green” from destruction.”
