PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players will finally get the chance to vault and climb as they please when the much-anticipated features are soon to be added to the test servers.

Those who have spent some time playing PUBG will know that moving across the map in a timely manner is critical, but the lack of the ability to traverse obstacles quickly doesn't always reflect that urgency. While a simple jump can put your over some obstacles, others prove to be a burden if they're just a bit too tall. This shouldn't be a problem for much longer assuming the testing for the vaulting mechanic moves swiftly on the test servers that will be available next week, according to developer Bluehole.

"This feature enables in-game characters to quickly scale obstacles in front of them," an update from Bluehole read. "Although we initially planned to allow crossing over structures which are up to 1 meter high, we have eventually decided to extend the functionality of the feature by increasing the limit to about 2.3 meters. Almost any static object that meets the dimension criteria can be scaled."

Along with jumping over small obstacles in your way such as short barricades, you'll also be able to move through windows or similar openings in structures. Many obstacles that are about chest-high to your character can be scaled while holding onto a weapon in one hand, but taller obstacles will require you to holster your weapon during the animation in order to cross them. Your speed at which your approach the obstacle will determine how quickly you climb over it, so if you're slow to reach the obstacle, you'll find yourself taking much longer to climb it while being more vulnerable for some time.

There are expected to be quite a few bugs and others issues to work through with the new vaulting system given how much it'll change, so players are encouraged to try it on the test servers and offer their feedback. A specific date wasn't given on when the test servers would be available, but players should look for them sometime next week in order to participate.
