There was a lot of feedback for Activision's Destiny 2 during this week's earnings call, with Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg covering a number of subjects surrounding the game, mainly with its downloadable content.

First off, he discussed the beta, indicating a "lot of positive signs" with Destiny 2, and the team having a "tremendous amount of confidence" in it, based on its feedback. "We received almost universally positive feedback fro both the press and the fans alike." On top of that, its development is "continuing to close strong" in terms of making its release date next month.

He also noted that pre-orders for the game have been "very strong" with an "overwhelmingly high percentage" for the special pre-orders of the game, which covers the extensive content that will be coming via expansions.

But some might be concerned how those expansions go, based on how previous ones for the first Destiny unfolded. But Hirshberg assured there's nothing to worry about. "Finally, and maybe most importantly with a game like this, Destiny is so engaging that the follow-on content is almost as important if not as important as the main game," he noted. And there are teams hard at work on those add-ons, alongside Bungie. He noted that it's "widening (its) stable of developers to keep up with demand for more content."

We'll more than likely see what that content is about after the game releases, as Activision is sure to reveal some kind of road map in terms of what players can expect this time around. We'll see what unfolds.

In the meantime, a PC beta is still coming at the end of the month, and with that, Activision should put some confidence into desktop and laptop owners wanting to see how well the game runs. That said, it's too soon to tell at this point. We'll see what happens when the PC version releases, a month and a half after the console ones arrive.

We'll have full impressions of Destiny 2 shortly after its release, once the servers have gone live.

Destiny 2 releases on September 6th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and October 24th for PC. If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can save 20% when you pre-order.
