The SNES Classic from Nintendo has done pretty well since its release, and if you find yourself being one of the lucky consumers of the $80 console, you can now bring it even further into the modern age with some retro, wireless controllers.

Having that wire run from your gamepad to the console might do even more to help you relive the glory days of Donkey Kong Country, EarthBound, and the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past even more, but a little modern convenience can go a long way, and 8Bitdo gets that. The company makes a variety of gaming products and third-party controllers, and they've turned their attention towards the new SNES Classic for their latest line of products.

8Bitdo made a wireless controller for the NES Classic as well when it was released, so those who looked forward to the first retro re-release might've expected a similar move from the company this time around. The latest line of controllers from 8Bitdo come with the classic purple and gray button scheme and also has a Super Famicom version to brighten up the controller with a bit more color.

In addition to the controller ditching the wires for a controller version that today's gamers have become accustomed to, it also takes it a step further by removing another component that those around for the SNES' initial release will also remember. Gone are the batteries from the wireless SNES controller, replaced this time by a rechargeable battery. The controller works via a 2.4G wireless receiver that SNES Classic owners will simply plug into their new console, and a USB cable that also comes with the controller will allow for easy recharges between your retro gaming sessions.

As far as pricing goes, the SNES wireless controller from 8Bitdo is pretty affordable as well. It comes in at just $24.99 and is currently available to preorder through Amazon. You'll have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on one though since the shipping won't begin until Dec. 10, but that means you'll still be able to get it in time for Christmas as a gift to a friend – or maybe just for yourself.
