The Last of Us Remastered Gets New PS4 Pro Oriented Patch

Even though The Last of Us Remastered is one of the older offerings on the PlayStation 4 right now, it's still one of the better games you can get – especially with the bumped-up 60 frames per second frame rate. But now it's about to look a whole lot prettier.

That's because the developers at Naughty Dog have released a new patch for the game that offers a number of new display options, working particularly with the PlayStation 4 Pro console. The patch, which should upload automatically following a start-up of the game, comes with a number of options, as well as some minor fixes, including an aiming issue and a smoke-bomb exploit that's now fixed.

The publisher noted in the PlayStation Blog post, "tarting today, PS4 Pro players will be able to select from new menu options and presets that provide additional configurations for resolution, framerate, and shadow quality. These new display settings options offer greater flexibility to PS4 Pro players connected to a 4K display, as well as traditional HD displays through supersampling. Additionally, today's patches resolve bugs and exploits identified in Factions Multiplayer." This is for both Last of Us Remastered and the Left Behind add-on, according to the team.

Here's the official rundown from Naughty Dog:

General:

• Modified PlayStation®4 Pro enhancements settings
• Added user options related to the PlayStation®4 Pro enhancement settings

Multiplayer:

• Fixed an issue that could cause a player to aim downward inadvertently
• Fixed an exploit where players could throw a smoke bomb to get inside of level collision

So it's nothing amazing in terms of updates, but you do get a number of new visual options that will somehow make the game look even better than ever before – and could serve as a possible template for what we'll see from the now-in-production The Last of Us Part II, which the team is hard at work on. We won't be seeing that one for a while, so you're probably better off enjoying The Last of Us Remastered for the time being. You'll be fine, though.
