The Xbox Live free games with gold for August have been revealed and, surprise! they’re nothing like the leak we reported from SomosXbox yesterday. The official lineup is going to cause a bit of controversy among Xbox One owners, since the Xbox One lineup is considerably more divisive than the leaked lineup. The backward compatible Xbox 360 games Xbox Live Gold members are getting next month still kick ass, though, so don’t lose hope!

Just for review, this was the supposed Xbox Live Games with Gold lineup that was leaked yesterday. On the Xbox One, players were expecting Firewatch and Assassin’s Creed Origins: India. The Xbox 360 games were supposed to be Forza Horizon 2 and Condemned: Criminal Origins. Those were all very solid games. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
