With director James Gunn breaking the spectacular news that Spider-Man: Homecoming has started shooting, fans are rallying around the web-slinging hero as actor Tom Holland has taken to Instagram to confirm the film's shooting.

Posted just hours ago, Tom Holland posted a photo on his official Instagram of himself leaning against his cast chair on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The black canvas seat is clearly embroidered with the name 'Peter' in reference to Queen's most famous vigilante, Peter Parker. The actor paired a tagline with the photo which reads, "First day on the job and I already got my chair #SpiderMan:Homecoming."

With over 48k likes, Tom's post is just one of several social media updates which confirm the film's shooting.

Earlier this morning, James Gunn took to Twitter to post a celebratory photo of himself with Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Tom Holland at a filming location in Atlanta, GA. The tweet reads, "Break a leg @TomHolland1996 & @jnwtts as you star [sic] your Spider-Man: Homecoming journey!" While Gunn has said several times that Spider-Man would not be appearing in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, fans were clearly excited to see the superhero mash-up hit their Twitter feeds. The director later took to Facebook with another post to clarify his earlier photo.

Gunn's post says, "Many blessings today to the star of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland, and the film's director, Jon Watts (standing in here for Jon is some dude that was passing by), as they begin their shoot in Atlanta just as we are ending ours. I don't think we could pass the Marvel baton to two nicer, better guys who care more about what they're doing. Kill it!"

With filming rumored to start full-on at some point this month, fans are looking forward to seeing Tom Holland expand his character's cameo in Captain America: Civil War to become a full-fledged hero in the upcoming Spider-Man solo film.
