Agent Carter: Is Angie Secretly Monitoring Peggy?

While, yes, she’s a very pretty young actress who’s had her share of talking-head roles (she sat on a couch for ten years on How I Met Your Mother, after all), Fonseca more recently is known to genre TV fans as an asskicker in her own right and keeping that offscreen in a show that’s all about women who kick ass? That’s…perplexing.

It got us thinking: Could she be secretly monitoring Peggy?

If so, it’d be hard to guess for whom, of course. It could be for HYDRA or Leviathan; it could be for the SSR itself; it could be for Howard Stark, who’s arguably the most likely candidate.

It sounds a little crazy, maybe…but remember that Agent 13 — Sharon Carter to those of us who read the comics — was assigned to live across the hall from Captain America and keep an eye on him in case he needed help or to get him out of trouble on behalf of Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Could that be a time-honored tradition in the organization?

Bear in mind that Angie has been more than just nice. If she weren’t so nice, you’d find her downright intrusive, basically insisting that Peggy live in her building, taking it very personally when Peggy doesn’t act like they’re BFFs…

…what’s the deal? 

We’re guessing she’s working for…somebody. It’s a spy show, after all. The obvious answer is that she could be the assassin from tonight, who killed Krzeminski and the strong man, but it seems far more likely that’s Dottie, the new girl.

Without a bit more context, it’s hard to make an educated guess. Gun to my head, I’d say Angie could very easily be working for Tony Stark — especially since she’s taken an interest in Jarvis a few times.
