Black Panther will have several key villain characters included in its storyline; but while characters like Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) and M’Baku (Winston Duke) will be causing T’Challa/Black Panther grief over the control of his kingdom, Wakanda, the true threat of the Black Panther movie will come from Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis).

When last we saw “Klaue,” he had been maimed by Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, during the psychotic robot’s attempt to coerce Klaue into turning over all of the Vibranium ore he smuggled out of Wakanda. As fans in SDCC’s Hall H saw, the Marvel Cinematic Universe Ulysses Klaue will indeed live up to his Marvel Comics counterpart when he replaces his severed arm with a sonic disruptor ray…

How Klaue Becomes Klaw

As you can watch above, Comicbook.com’sย interview with Andy Serkisย during SDCC17 covered the subject of how Ulysses Klaueย makes his transition into becoming the Marvel supervillainย known as “Klaw.” According to the War for the Planet of the Apesย star:ย

“So Ulysses Klaueย in ‘Age of Ultron’ gets his arm severed, and he’s incredibly bitter about that. But that doesn’t stop him: he goesย back, and he’s retrievedย an old mining tool, which he’s turned into this sonic disruptor – and yeah, he gets to play with it. And that’s such fun [laughs].”

Serkisย goes on to describe why Klawย will have a problem with Black Panther, even though it was The Avengers who maimed him. For more on that, check out the other portion of our interview:ย
