MCU Exchange recently noticed a particular listing for one of Thor: Ragnarok's Funko figures - a Mystery Mini of The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). The rare figure shows the character in a golden hue, and he's listed as a 'Celestial' variant. MCU fans will quickly recognize that title, as Ego the Living Planet (Kurt Russell) revealed that he was a member of the Celestial race in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
It's unclear if this use of celestial will carry into Ragnarok, or is just a way of differentiating the figure from its 'common' alternative. However, the use of that particular term is worth noting - and does make sense, given what we already know about the Grandmaster.
It has already been confirmed that Grandmaster is related to The Collector (Benicio Del Toro), who previously appeared in the first Guardians film. Both characters appear to wield plenty of influence in the galaxy, although they seem to do so a little more flamboyantly and publicly than Ego.
If The Collector does end up being a Celestial, it could create an interesting added layer to the world of Ragnarok. Ego displayed his various 'god-like' powers throughout Vol. 2, and it has yet to be seen if The Collector will be able to do the same. Fans will just have to wait until Ragnarok rolls around in November to find out.
