A new featurette spotlighting on of The Amazing Spider-Man 2's villains, Electro, has been released online (via MTV). The video gives us some insight into Electro's background. Before becoming Electro, Max Dillon is just a nobody, except for maybe being Spider-Man's biggest fan. "At the beginning of the film," says director Marc Webb, "he's Spider-Man's greatest fan. In fact, he's obsessed with him." Following his transformation, however, Electro has an axe to grind with Spider-Man. "Somewhere in his mind," says Jamie Foxx, who plays Electro in the film, "he felt like he and Spider-Man were going to be partners. But then Spider-Man's like, 'No, it's not like that.'" It doesn't take long for Electro to turn his rage, and his new powers, on the world at large. "After getting his powers, he's misunderstood," Andrew Garfiel, who plays Spider-Man, said. "The rest of the world is like, 'Kill him, kill him, kill him.' And it's because of this final insult to his character and soul that he goes, 'You know what? Everyone is going to feel my wrath now.'" In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker runs the gauntlet as the mysterious company Oscorp sends up a slew of supervillains against him, impacting on his life. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes to theaters May 2.
