Could there be a new trend developing in television? Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC ties into the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe. Now, the same thing is in the works for the Terminator franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures are teaming to work on a new Terminator TV series. The TV series is being developed by the same producers behind the upcoming fifth installment in the Terminator movie franchise, and the Terminator TV series will work in conjunction with the new rebooted film. Thor and X-Men: First Class writers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller will write and executive produce the new Terminator TV series, and the creative teams behind both the film and TV series will work together. According to the report, both the Terminator reboot and the TV series will follow a critical moment from the first Terminator film, but they will tell completely different stories, which will intersect in some surprising ways. The Alan Taylor directed Terminator reboot will be released in movie theaters on July 1, 2015. No date has been announced yet for the TV series.
