While it had the lowest domestic opening weekend of the entire franchise, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 certainly didn’t fail, and has seen increased growth in the international market to see a lot of success.

Wednesday should see it cross the $300 million mark worldwide, just as it goes into the Thanksgiving weekend, a long weekend for much of the U.S. market. It will also see competition form Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, opening today, and to a slightly lesser extent, Creed.

Mockingjay Part 2‘s real test is to see if it can eventually outdo the other films in the franchise, and as of right now, it doesn’t seem on track for that achievement in the domestic market. Luckily, it is tracking higher in the foreign market, and could yet see a strong finish for the series, and production company Lionsgate.
