Even though Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder isn't working directly on Suicide Squad, could one of his Watchmen actors be playing a role in the upcoming supervillain team-up?

Well, that's what Latino Review says, suggesting that Jackie Earle Haley is among the names currently "being tossed around" to play The Thinker in the David Ayer-directed action film.

It's obviously a far cry from a confirmation, but Haley would make sense, given the sort of actors and the look that they've been cultivating so far in the DC movie universe. Other Watchmen stars have also turned up as "rumored" in previous DC (and Marvel) movies in recent years, although none of them have turned out to actually be cast.

Ayer will direct the film, which stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Boomerang; Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag; and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Viola Davis will play Waller. Ed Harris and Joe Manganiello are rumored to appear as well.

Suicide Squad is expected to start shooting this month for a release on August 5, 2016.
